Her Secret, His Surprise by Paula Altenburg
Genres: Contemporary Romance
Conflict of interest is an understatement…
Since being disowned by her strict father, Cass Stone has spent her adulthood trying to prove him wrong. Her drive has led to more success than her family ever thought she’d achieve, and life is looking great. Not even an incredible and mysterious one night stand that leaves her a single mom can trip her up...until the father of her baby stumbles back into her life, as sexy and unreliable as ever.
Logan Alexander hasn’t forgotten the night he spent with Cass two years ago, but he never expects to end up undercover as her assistant. His job saves lives—like it should have saved his brother—and he can’t afford complications. It’s difficult enough to maintain his cover as a carefree wanderer when he realizes his attraction to Cass hasn’t faded...and then he meets Cass’s daughter.
Cass and Logan are both such wonderful characters! Cass ran away from home as a teen and then is disowned by her father ends up having a daughter after a one-night stand with Logan. They both assume they will never see each other again after that night and Cass does attempt to call Logan once she discovers she is pregnant. Of course he is no longer working at the place she called because Logan is an undercover agent. Neither has ever forgotten the other for various reasons and imagine their surprise when Logan not only shows up to work as Cass’ assistant but he is also living with his grandmother right next door.
I love the chemistry these two have not to mention the love they each have for their daughter. From the moment that Logan realizes he is the father he feels protective and such love that you can actually feel it jump off the pages the pages at you. Cass is working so hard to make it and prove to her family that she can make a life not only for herself but her family. I really love that Logan’s grandmother had already taken Cass under her wings and treated her as though she was family. This is really a sweet and HOT read!
