Reaper's Fall by Joanna Wylde
Genres: MC Romance
The New York Times bestselling author of Reaper’s Stand is back in her “uber-alpha rough world of MCs”* as one woman’s future is rocked by the man whose hardcore past could destroy her…
He never meant to hurt her.
Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.
Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.
Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.
Reaper’s Fall is the newest standalone in the Reaper’s MC Series. Painter & Melanie’s story is FINALLY here!
If you are not new to this series then you already know who Painter is. We met him before when he had a sort of relationship (but not really) with Emmy. Although it did look like Painter was going to forever be a man-whore! The story starts at present day with an intense animosity between the couple. Then you are taken back a few years to the beginning of their relationship and the reason behind intense animosity. Once Painter is incarcerated they begin to write letters back and forth. Then Painter is released and he really struggles with his feelings towards Melanie. He wants her to have someone better than him, better than the MC life.
I will you that Melanie can hold a grudge like no other! Everything gets complicated between them They want each other and deep down love one another intensely but getting to the point of being together takes a while. Of course one night changes everything for these two. Also Painter’s loyalty and obligations to the club cost him dearly. This is a faster read than the previous books but I have been waiting for Painter’s story for a while and truly enjoyed it. I knew he would be one of the most complicated. It didn’t disappoint and once again showed that Joanna Wylde certainly knows her way around the MC world.
